The templates, and the line through them
A check-in reminder is exempt from consent because it is transactional. That exemption dies the moment an offer is attached to it. “Your check-in is due — and there’s 20% off the new twelve week block” is a commercial message that needed express opt in. So the template is typed, and the database refuses to let anything but a marketing template promote.
